It's all about Fashion....

ok since I'm gone right now, I thought I'd post some links to some articles I've seen about fashion, style and modesty.  I came across these and thought they were worth passing along....

Here are some of our tips that allow my teens to be fashionable on a budget!


1) Swap- Teens are great at swapping with friends! Need a prom dress? Ask an older classmate to let you wear one of her older dresses! Need prom shoes? Ask another friend! Fashion and Modesty 
As a young lady who wears modest clothing all the time, I am a big advocate of being fashionable and still modest. I mean, really, who wants to be modest and yet look dowdy or frumpy? Not me, that's for sure! So, below are some tips I have found useful in the past and still use today. Check them out!

1.Pair Cotton Shirts and Skirts.
I love the cotton t-shirts that are light, airy and yet fashionable. You can get a shirt with pretty much any statement on it or design. Pair this with a light cotton skirt. I like the maxi tiered skirts and love wearing one with a t-shirt on top.....(read rest of article here)

What the Scriptures teach about modesty

An honest and open talk about modesty must begin with the Bible. As Christians, the Bible is our ultimate authority for what we say, how we dress, how we act, and how we live our lives. It doesn’t matter what I have to say on the subject or what the world has to say. Ultimately, the only truth in this world is what Scripture teaches, and its teachings are all we need to run our lives.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. ~2 Timothy 3:16
God’s word is truth. He gave us His holy word so that we could learn how to live lives for Him. By reading and studying God’s word, the man (or woman) of God may be complete, and ready to handle EVERY good work. Scripture is sufficient to teach us all that we need to know about living a Christian life, parenting, work, ethics, morals, and yes, even how to dress. A Style of Her Own

How do you let go of the style reigns and help your daughter create a sense of style all her own?

Here are a few tips:

1.  What makes her smile?  Watch her, study her, wait for those moments when her eyes sparkle and the corners of her mouth turn up as her eyes alight on something she considers beautiful.  What are her favorite colors?  Does she likes polka-dots or stripes?  Does she like things that sparkle or more subdued colors?  Are her tastes fancy or girl-next-doorish?(read complete article here)
